custom abstract piece

To tie the spare room together I created a custom piece with all the colors already in the room. The art on the left is from my husband's bachelor days. I have grown to like it and used it to create this larger piece to fill the empty wall that was bugging me. Now the spare room walls are balanced.

5 tier shelf

It is finally finished! I've been working on a wood project for most of 2020. I wish I had had detailed plans & know how. But as it is I looked at a picture and made the rest up. I got to buy new tools and learn from YouTube how to use them. Its not perfect but it is DONE!

lessons

I've learned a lesson. You shouldn't hope too much with practice pieces.

This is my sketch at a milk glass vase.

1. The previous artist of my recycled canvas used sharpie, which bleeds through anything! So the pink words you may see on my white vase is not intentional.

2. It feels good just o be working on art again. I'm in a no judgement zone until 2021.

Sketch- kitten

The kitten
Wieghed on the balance
Is still playing.  ~Issa

Still love haiku. This is a sketch of what i saw when i read Issa's poem. Just a kitten playing in an old dry goods store balance.

I'm not sure if he will make a complete drawing or painting but i wanted to share this little guy with you.

Swing?

I have a friend who is also a special needs adult. She calls this a swing... for my plant. So yes, I've made another swing. If you want fancy decorator terms, then it's a "floating shelf" or a "suspended shelf". This spider plant is going to be so happy out on my front porch. Dressing up the house little bit by little bit. It's so much fun.

What have you made lately? What fun little thing have you added to your home?

Indoor plein aire

I'm dying to be creative but with all the stress from what is going on in the nation & in my own life inspiration is very limited.  This little ink drawing took an hour and a half-ish. Plien aire still life in my air conditioned dinning room.

I will keep feeding all the different parts of me so that creativity can happen. God is helping me through each day. Thanks for cheking in on me.

Update

As you may know there is a pandemic in 2020. Do not think for a moment that I am not creating art. Because I knew I would have lots of time I chose something very difficult.  I am doing a painting of a peony... enough said. I will post here as soon as it is ready.
Wash your hands!

Life, photo, drawing

We went walking downtown in late February.  It was so nice & unseasonably warm.  One photo sparked this ink drawing. Mixing ink colors was new to me but it think it turned out rather well.

Still life #4

Probably the hardest still life that I have ever done! The angel sculpture,  the multifaceted parasol, the blue glass vs scratched up clear glass, the nest ball, the cubes and all on a dark tablecloth.  After two to three weeks of work  i am "done" with this drawing.  Hindsight has also taught me to be sure to track where other drawings are in the paper supply. All this work ended up on the back of a large pastel sunflower. Woops!

Stll life #3

This cute little snail pepper shaker posed under a new houseplant. Variegated leaves are hard to paint. 2020 is shaping up to be very productive so far.

still life #2 - pastel

Finished Feb2. More flowers in vases from my dad's funeral.  I now own the antique but fully usable miter saw used as background.

Painting on wood

The simplicity of tulips inspired me to finally try something I've been wanting to do.  The wood absorbed some of the acrylic but the painting turned out very well.

As a sidenote, flowers fade vey fast. I should have done this painting in one day. Woops!

Hardest puzzle ever!

It is finally finished! This photomosaic puzzle shrunk the Star Wars pic down to quarter inch by half inch then did a R2D2 by tone. It was a really hard three weeks of puzzling.
